Can you describe chronic pain?

Dr. Hong: Chronic pain is pain that persists beyond the usual time frame for healing, typically more than 2-3 months.

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois, has appointed Dr. John K. Hong the Medical Director of Inpatient and Outpatient Pain Management.


Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians relocate and expand Hinsdale and Downers Grove offices.

"The relocation into our new offices reflects our continued commitment at Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians to provide accessible, convenient care for patients in Hinsdale, Downers Grove, and surrounding communities.  We are excited that our expanded hours will allow us to better serve the growing needs at these locations,” stated Dr. John Hong, M.D., founder and President of Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians.

Gateway will be staying within the same building in Hinsdale, however they will be relocating to a newly constructed 2400 sq. ft. office suite that includes an on-site physical therapy facility.

“Our Hinsdale office, found at 12 Salt Creek Lane, is located conveniently nearby Ogden Ave and Highway 294 as well as the new Adventist Cancer Institute in Hinsdale. The building has been recently renovated and is the future home to the Hinsdale Surgical Center,” said Dr. Hong.

In Downers Grove, Gateway will be seeing patients on the medical campus of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. This location is attached to the hospital and features valet parking.
